Will a BBL Improve the Appearance of Cellulite on the Thighs?

Cellulite on the thighs is a pervasive problem among women. With its lumpy, orange peel-like appearance, cellulite can be unsightly and embarrassing. Many women who have cellulite look for a way to get rid of their problem. Unfortunately, it isn’t an easy problem to resolve. Cellulite stubbornly resists dieting and exercising. It isn’t too surprising, then, that some women are now seeking a surgical solution. One option that some women consider is a BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift), but can this improve cellulite’s appearance?

What Is Cellulite?

Cellulite is not a medical problem, so it requires no treatment. Nevertheless, it is unsightly and causes sufferers low self-esteem. Cellulite often has the appearance of orange peel, causing dimpled and lumpy skin. It’s most common on the thighs, buttocks, and stomach.

Experts still don’t understand completely what causes cellulite. However, it involves connective fibrous cords that fix the muscle to the skin lying over it. The fat lies in between, and as the cells grow, they start to push upward against the skin. Meanwhile, the tough, long, fibrous cords pull downward. As a result, the skin becomes dimpled and uneven.

Cellulite may occur due to hormonal factors, as it is overwhelmingly more common in women than in men. Genetics may also have a part to play since our genes determine our skin texture and structure. Although muscle tone and weight may impact cellulite, even slim and fit people may suffer from it.

What Is A BBL?

A BBL or Brazilian Butt Lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure. The BBL seeks to improve how the buttocks look. It is a two-part procedure. First, the surgeon removes excess fat from the patient. Often, this fat will come from the stomach or thighs. They then treat the fat before injecting it back into the patient’s buttocks. The result is a more rounded, pert bottom with a more feminine, curvy shape.

Why Would I Need A BBL?

Having a round bottom and curvy physique is very desirable for women. However, it’s challenging to achieve this shape just through exercise and dieting alone. That is why the Brazilian Butt Lift is proving to be such a popular surgery. It represents the ideal solution to achieve a curvy, feminine shape without the potential risks associated with butt implants.

BBL surgery also offers an added benefit in that it involves liposuction to harvest the necessary fat for the grafts. That allows the patient to slim one area of the body while creating more curves in another. When the surgeon harvests the fat from the stomach and waist area, they can create pronounced feminine curves. As a result, the patient benefits from a beautiful, hourglass shape.

Does Liposuction Get Rid of Cellulite?

There is a common misconception that liposuction can get rid of cellulite. It isn’t difficult to see why this myth persists. After all, cellulite is a form of fat, and liposuction eradicates fat, so surely this surgery will work? Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. In fact, in some cases, liposuction even makes cellulite look worse. Liposuction removes the fat that helps to support the skin. The skin de-volumizes, leaving the lumpy, dimpled cellulite looking more noticeable.

If Liposuction Can’t Eliminate Cellulite, How Could A BBL Help?

During a BBL, the surgeon injects fat into the buttocks. The extra fat can create a firmer, smoother, and more toned appearance for the buttocks. That may visibly reduce the dimples that cellulite creates. With a fuller bottom, thigh cellulite can look reduced too. It’s important to note, though, that a BBL isn’t specifically a cellulite treatment. Therefore, there’s no guarantee that it will help to improve its appearance.

Should I Consider A BBL Procedure?

If you’d like to improve your bottom’s appearance and achieve more feminine curves, a BBL could be right for you. However, you shouldn’t opt to have this procedure solely to improve your cellulite. There is no guarantee that a Brazilian Butt Lift will have any positive effect on dimpling at all.

You should really only consider having a BBL if you have realistic expectations of the outcome of the procedure. You must also meet all of the criteria for the surgery. You must be in good overall health, be close to your ideal weight, and be a non-smoker. You must also be willing to commit to a long-term healthy lifestyle and following your surgeon’s advice.

A BBL is a good choice if you want a rounder, curvier bottom with a soft, natural feel. It is also a good option if you’d like to achieve slimmer contours in another area of your body. After a BBL, your clothes will fit better, and you’ll have a more womanly, curvy body. You may still have cellulite, though.
